A company with an office in Santa Maria [Campbell Rinker] will call Nipomo residents in the coming months to find out whether the Nipomo Community Services District should develop parks in town. The district, which currently provides water, trash and sewer services, has been considering adding parks development and maintenance to its list of services. The County, which currently controls parks in the unincorporated town, is said to be limited in resources to develop more parks. The district's board voted unanimously Wednesday to hire marketing firm Campbell Rinker to call 300 residents to find out if they think it's a good idea.

The survey will cost the district up to $17,540. The company will also conduct the interviews in Spanish if needed. Campbell Rinker expects to have results of the survey ready by mid-June.
